Embroidered Collar

Materials:  DMC 6-strand cotton on cotton brocade ground

Inspiration:  design from the Mammen embroideries, colors chosen to compliment over-dress.

The fabric was provided to me by the seamstress creating the rest of Kára's step up garb.

Before this project, I had only ever done counted work or drawn a design on with a pencil. I had no idea how to transfer a pattern to dark fabric, so I pinned a paper pattern to the fabric and basted over the lines. This was... not my best idea (and not the only time I'd do it)  If you look closely in the photos below, you can see the black lines I was following.
